On the Farm

These glass and mixed media sculptures were made upon my return home to rural Wiltshire having completed my undergraduate degree at Falmouth. Studying at Falmouth had ignited an interest in architecture and the built environment, more specifically it encouraged me to look at humble, unassuming and everyday buildings with renewed interest. These works were made in response to the agricultural buildings near my home, and the rural industries they serve. I was drawn to the clean lines and simple forms of these farm buildings in contrast to natural vistas that they inhabit. My choice of other materials in combination with the glass often reference the function that these buildings fulfilled.
